The Motet explores funk pioneers, Devil Makes Three announced

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Celebrating twenty years as a band, Colorado based septet The Motet prepares intensely for each tour in order to dig deeper into the art of funk. Local revelers of groove-based and horn-laced dance parties are no stranger to the infectious concoction brought to us over the years by bandleader and drummer Dave Watts.

The current tour has the band dissecting the work of funk pioneers such as Parliament, Herbie Hancock and Prince Rogers Nelson. The band’s own discography of predominantly self-released material boasts seven studio albums and a live album, the most recent being 2016’s Totem.

Two nights of The Motet gives you options, performing at 9 p.m. this Friday and Saturday at the Pink Garter Theatre. Tickets are $20/night or $35/two nights. Upgrade to VIP for an extra $25.

The Pink Garter Theatre also just announced punkified blues and garage-y ragtime trio Devil Makes Three for May 22. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 23.
