Living Center lifts flu visitation ban

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Restrictions put in place at St. John’s Living Center over concerns of an influenza outbreak have been lifted.

St. John’s Medical Center yesterday resumed full operations at the Living Center, including regular admission and discharge procedures. Group dining and activities are also again available.

Visitors, with the exception of children, are also welcome as long as they are not experiencing cough, sniffles, aches, or fever.

St. John’s Medical Center and the team at the Living Center express appreciation for the cooperation and support of the community as we worked to keep residents, patients, and employees safe and get back to full operations.

“I’m grateful and deeply impressed by the entire staff of the hospital and pharmacy, and especially the Living Center, for their efforts to minimize the risk of influenza during this particularly active flu season,” said St. John’s CEO Paul Beaupre, MD. “The teamwork, service, and focus on safety make me proud to lead this wonderful organization.”

The decision to resume Living Center operations followed guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Wyoming Department of Health and was made by medical director Martha Stearn, MD, in collaboration with infection prevention specialists from St. John’s Medical Center and Living Center staff.
