King & Queen of Corbet’s Crowned, Results and equal prize money.

King Karl Fostvedt and Queen Caite Zeliff

JACKSON, WYO – The Kings & Queens of Corbet’s competition marked the inevitable return of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort claiming it’s title as the rowdiest ski resort in the lower 48. After years of messaging from JHMR marketing “All new all Blue” and a softening of the brand in order to gain a broader appeal in the groomer & family ski demographics. JHMR Decided to throw that effort on the back burner and pay homage to the resorts extreme mountain roots with a contest like none other.

The inaugural Kings and Queens of Corbet’s was arguably the biggest and boldest competition the ski industry has ever seen. Twenty-five of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders sent the world-famous couloir like no one has before. ~Jacksonhole.com

The crowning ceremony held at the Mangy Moose last night left both King Karl Fostvedt and Queen Caite Zeliff $8,000* richer.

JHMR is pleased to announce that all the winning athletes male and female will receive equal cash compensation. That prize money is $8,000 for first place, $4,000 for second place and $3,000 for third place.

*More then a few concerned Buckrail readers reached out with questions in regards to why there was a variance in the cash prize between the King & Queen, JHMR appears to have stepped up with another 10K in prize money to quell those concerns as the initial purse for the competition was $20,000 and the prize total outlined above is $30,000.
