JACKSON HOLE, WYO –The Jackson Hole High School Mountaineering Club just completed building a climbing wall in the old wrestling room at the high school.
Students, parents and teachers helped construct four MoonBoards to complete the high-tech climbing wall. MoonBoards are cost effective, space efficient 40-degree bouldering training walls that have become one of the most sought-after training systems for home users and commercial climbing gyms alike.
Jackson has been without an indoor climbing facility for three-and-a-half years now since Enclosure Climbing Gym closed down on September 4, 2014. As a result, local kids haven’t had a place to gather and climb. They do now.
The boards were recently painted with a ‘Teton’ scene by JHHS Art classes. The next step is a fundraiser to add floor padding, LED lighting and climbing holds.
