JHHS announces community engagement meeting, other happenings

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – All parents, students, and community members are invited to attend the “State of the State” of Jackson Hole High School information session on September 18 at 6pm.

Research demonstrates that community awareness and engagement in schools leads to improved academic success for students. The purpose of this informational evening is to ensure community members have an understanding of the programming available to all secondary students.

“We want you to understand how Jackson Hole High School is a premiere educational institute striving to meet the needs of all our varied students,” stated M. Scott Crisp, PhD, Principal of JHHS. “It is essential that our entire community understands the role of JHHS in educating the community’s children and supporting fabric of Jackson Hole.”

A snapshot of some of the topics to be presented include:

  • Who we are as a school? Who are our students and educators?
  • What is our academic record?
  • Why are we updating learning spaces for students?
  • What are some examples of school to community partnerships?
  • What does the day look like from a student lens—the narrative of a student day?
  • What are some of the unique programs offered to students and how can students earn college credit for free?

Don’t be shy. The high school will be all the better for the engagement shown by the community.

By the way, here is how to access your student’s grades and progress using a Canvas parent account.

Lily Brazil (Facebook)

Two JHHS students were recognized at a recent Board of Education meeting for their outstanding academic achievements.

Lily Brazil earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT test. Who does that? Not many, apparently. In fact, of the 1.8M students who take this exam each year, only about a thousand earn a perfect score. We are awed, Lily.

Also, Rosalie Daval was announced as a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist. It’s amazing recognition for any student and we commend Rosalie for her hard work.
