January breaks records

JACKSON, Wyo. — Just halfway through the month, January has already set a new record for deepest in Jackson Hole Mountain Resort history.

Over 11 feet of snow has fallen on the Tetons since January 1, and 134 inches have fallen on the upper mountain. Combined with current base depths of 91 inches, this January is officially the deepest on record to date.

“We’re in the flow,” said JHMR Vice President of Operations Tim Mason. “I’m impressed by the virality and sustained nature of this storm cycle, and how our staff have responded to it.”

Jackson Hole has seen 272 inches of total snow to date this season, including 21 inches in the past 48 hours. The storm cycle seems to have passed, but more snow is in the forecast sporadically throughout the next week. Check Buckrail’s snow report for more detailed predictions.
