The Wellness Garden at May Park – Open House April 15, Teton County Library Gallery
April 15 @ 5:00 am - 6:30 pmFree
Age Friendly Jackson Hole is presenting a display in the Teton County Library gallery during the month of April featuring the Wellness Garden at Wayne C. May Park, also known as May Park, in east Jackson. First envisioned by Age Friendly Jackson Hole in 2014, the Wellness Garden will be a relaxed, quiet corner of the park that will include elements such as conversation areas, walking paths, hummingbird and butterfly gardens and native plantings.
Its innovative design reflects “nature Rx” for wellness: doctors are now writing prescriptions for people of all ages to spend time outdoors and in natural settings for increased mental and physical well being. The Wellness Garden fulfills a distinct community need for outdoor space that emphasizes opportunities for a broad range of ages and abilities reflecting the great diversity of residents in our community.
The display marks the kick-off for fundraising efforts to make the Wellness Garden a reality for the community. The library is open daily. Age Friendly Jackson Hole will be holding an open house the evening of April 15th from 5:00-6:30. Come see the history and current plans for this special addition to our community!
The mission of Age Friendly Jackson Hole (AFJH) is to ensure and enhance accessibility for, and inclusivity of, older adults as well as people of all ages and abilities in all aspects of life in Jackson Hole.
