Music on Main: The Accidentals
August 8 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Boasting the best FREE all-ages outdoor summer concert series in the Yellowstone region, our summer music series continues the tradition of bringing highly talented musicians of diverse genres to Teton Valley.
Join us for Week 7 of our 2019 summer season!
Female-fronted, multi-instrumentalist power trio, The Accidentals (Sav Buist, Katie Larson, and Michael Dause) kicked off 2018 with the release of their debut album, Odyssey.
PopMatters says you can’t define them by comparison to any one band, comparing them to a mash up of influences including, “The Beatles, Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Ani Difranco, Neko Case, Brandi Carlile, etc.” NPR says “they display equal interest in the focused musical forms of indie rock and pop and the expansive potential of orchestral arrangements, jam band open-endedness and impressionistic singer-songwriter expression,” adding, “they might be the most compelling songwriters of our time.”
“Already known for their high-energy live show and a willingness to connect with fans through personal tunes, plugged-in social media awareness and an intriguing backstory, The Accidentals are going places.” -HUFFINGTON POST
Opener: Aaron Davis & The Mystery Machine
The distance between a sure bet and a Mystery is adventure fueled by trepidation. Multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Aaron Davis works the lesser-worn corners of the American musical fabric through an unconventional lens. Slide banjo? Detuned guitar made of metal? You bet. From “searing slide guitar” (Country Weekly) in the country-blues vein à la Duane Allman with “a particularly interesting approach that mixes poetry, groove and roughness” (Lonestar Time) to a patchwork of fingerstyle folk, gypsy grass, gritty Americana and soulful roots-rock, Davis has been described as a “truly phenomenal songwriter” (About.com). He is chiefly known as co-founder of decade-long Americana band Screen Door Porch, which toured nationally and became a household name in the region
