Early morning fire in Town Creek Condos

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Firefighters battled an early morning blaze at Town Creek Condominiums at 355 West Deloney. Emergency crews responded at 4:12am to a structure fire at Unit A-2 of the Town Creek Condos. The fire was reported by the unit’s occupant.

Officers from the Jackson Police Department were first to arrive and confirmed everyone was out of the three-story structure. Officers also evacuated all 15 units comprising the building.

Engine 11 out of Station 1 in Jackson was first to arrive onscene. They encountered dark grey smoke billowing from a second story window. Additional, units from Jackson Hole Fire/EMS (JHFEMS) stations 2 (Wilson), 6 (Teton Village Road), and 7 (Adams Canyon), arrived soon after. The fire was quickly found in a bedroom and extinguished.

The occupant of the unit where the fire started was evaluated by paramedics and transported to St. John’s Medical Center by ambulance.

Total responders to the fire included two JPD officers, eight Fire and EMS apparatus, and 23 firefighters.

Incident Commander, Battalion Chief Brian Coe stated, “Due to the great work of all emergency responders on scene, the fire resulted in minimal damage to a bedroom. This is a great opportunity for community members to check their smoke detectors within their residences.”

Coe also reported extensive smoke damage throughout the unit.

The origin of the fire is still being investigated.
