Black ice Friday, travel safe

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Yesterday’s all-day soaker has frozen over a bit on many roadways in and out of Jackson. Black ice advisories are everywhere. If the road surface is shiny in your headlights, there is a good chance it is ice and not simply wet pavement.

Teton Pass is open after 3am avalanche mitigation early this morning. Conditions on the pass are slick in spots with black ice. Chain law is in effect.

Slick and black ice up through the canyons as well, and north to Moose and Moran. Practice pumping those brakes and giving plenty of room between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
