JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Center of Wonder announced the Arts for All 2017-2018 grant recipients yesterday and, wow, are they spreading the love. The Arts for All grants program distributes social service tax dollars from the Town of Jackson and Teton County for arts education, producing and presenting opportunities, and public projects by individual artists that have a strong community benefit. This year the Center awarded $49,000 to the arts community.

Art Association of Jackson Hole (Creating Hand-in-Hand with Our Latino Community)
The Art Association’s Creating Hand-in-Hand outreach program ensures that all members of our community have access to visual arts education and experiences, regardless of socioeconomic status, background, race, or disabilities. Art making has proven therapeutic value, including stress and anxiety relief, mood elevation, and increased self-awareness. This program brings art to the underserved in our community.

Big City Broadway (Bridging the Gap)
Big City Broadway will collaborate with the Jackson Hole High School Drama department to offer Performance Clinics. Guest artists will work with students on vocalization, dance, stage combat, scenic design, and acting for TV/film.

Cathedral Voices (2018 Spring Music Festival)
Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir will present their 2018 Spring Music Festival in May 2018, a weeklong festival of choral music and music education that centers around the residency of internationally acclaimed choral composer, Dan Forrest. The week will feature workshops, musical conversations with Mr. Forrest, open rehearsals, and a collaborative chorale performance.

Center for the Arts (The Fishbowl)          
The Center Courtyard will be transformed by Bland Design into a Fishbowl with one gigantic resident Goldfish. The Fishbowl will be installed from September 2017 through April 2018. This is an interdisciplinary project, which will include an artist talk, reception, and science/art enrichment opportunities for fifth-grade students.

Dancers’ Workshop (“Princess and the Pea”)
Dancers’ Workshop will bring an original production of “The Princess and The Pea” to the stage of the Center Theater this December. This whimsical and creative take on the classic fairy tale will feature local students and community members together with Guest Artists from Contemporary Dance Wyoming.

Grand Teton Music Festival (Community Concert Series)
GTMF’s Community Concert Series is presented at no charge, at various venues throughout Jackson Hole. Artists will include visiting soloists, the Festival Orchestra, and local/regional musicians. The concerts vary in style and format and are aimed at engaging youth, reaching new audiences, and enriching the musical offerings in Jackson throughout the year.

Jackson Hole Chorale (35th Season)               
JH Chorale enlivens our local community by offering free concerts and outreach performances that reach over 4,000 community members. The Chorale intends to continue its 35-year legacy of providing musical excellence and fantastic programming. Director Ron Fabry will be expanding the holiday programming this year.

Jackson Hole Writers (Community/Kids’ Workshop)
JH Writers will host two community workshops and a kids’ writing camp. These programs are designed to help local writers of all ages improve their skills, broaden their creative horizons, and further their careers, while also promoting and sustaining a vibrant literary community in Jackson.

JH Children’s Museum (The Creativity Process)
The Jackson Hole Children’s Museum’s Creativity Studio is a unique environment that promotes creative learning and development. It is a material heavy space that encourages creativity and messy exploration. Our weekly Curious Kids and Sensory Exploration classes are rich in materials and inspiration.

Jackson Hole Land Trust (FoundSpace 2018)
JH Land Trust will host its fourth FoundSpace, an interactive public art project installed on conservation easements. This program supports local artists and invites people to explore the concept that art and open spaces are natural partners.

JH WILD (WILD Fest)
JH WILD will host its four-day public Festival, September 29-October 3 celebrating the wonders of nature and science. It will feature 50+ free and modestly-priced ticketed presentations, special filmmaker screenings & premieres and art/photography installations, feature innovators, evocative thinkers and world-renowned artists and experts to inspire audiences of all ages and deeply enrich the artistic & cultural landscape of our community.

NMWA (Wildlife Trade: Art & Science)
Wildlife Trade: Art & Science is an exhibit which considers the role of global wildlife trade in driving numerous species to extinction while harming human lives and livelihoods. It features work by artists studying the impact of global trade on endangered species. Participating artists interviewed experts, including biologists, veterinarians, park rangers, zookeepers, sanctuary managers, and policy-makers in creating highly personal, emotionally charged artwork that is informed by the facts.

Off Square Theatre (Thin Air Shakespeare)
Now in its fifth-year, Off Square Theatre’s Thin Air Shakespeare has grown to include a Director-in-Residence, summer camp offerings for youth, and professional internships for high school and college students. This program provides free, family-friendly and professional Shakespeare, held on the lawn of the Center for the Arts.

pARTners (Art and Literature in Nature)
pARTners is taking the lead on Art & Literature in Nature, a 40-year old program that explores the intersections of art, literature, writing, creative expression, community, and nature. Teton County High School students will spend a week at the Teton Science School campus in Kelly, creating with professional artists and writers.

Riot Act (15th Season)
Riot Act is a fluid collective of artists, a theatre of community consciousness and artistic accountability, providing affordable theatre experiences. Our 15th Season will feature The Women by Clare Boothe Luce, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) by Ann-Marie Macdonald, Rapture, Blister, Burn by Gina Gionfriddo, and our Annual series of Shorts in conjunction with our 5th Annual New Play Festival.

Teton Artlab (Artist-in-Residence)
Teton Artlab’s Artist In Residence (A-I-R) program supports the work of exceptional artists from all over the world by providing free or subsidized studio space, housing, and access to shared resources. These visiting artists are immersed for extended periods of time in our art community, working side by side with our regional artists in residence. We also offer our artists professional development opportunities through exhibitions, teaching, and participation in public art events.
