Woman sexually assaulted last night, cops have no suspects
TETON VALLEY, IDA –
UPDATED (10pm): Buckrail has now learned the assault took place in Victor. Mayor Jeff Potter said his office fully backs the Sheriff’s Department—lead agency on the investigation—as well as the Idaho State Police, and hopes someone can come forward who knows or saw something.
“On behalf of the City of Victor, our deepest sympathies go out to the victim. We would like her to know that her community is here for her and we will do everything in our ability to support law enforcement’s efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrator,” Potter said.
Any members of the public, particularly those who were in Victor between the hours of 11 pm and 2 am the night of August 3 and early morning of August 4. A more detailed description of the suspect is expected to be available over the weekend. Any suspicious behavior or information related to the suspect’s identity should immediately be reported directly to the Sheriff’s Department at 208-354-2323.
Teton County Sheriff’s Office (Idaho) received a report of a violent sexual assault early this morning and are currently searching for an unknown assailant.
At 1:33am, Friday, August 4, TCSO (Idaho) received a call reporting a female victim being forcibly raped by a male suspect described as white with a buzz cut and wearing a dark-colored hoodie. The victim did not know the suspect.
The Sheriff’s Office would release no further information on the case, citing an ongoing investigation.
