Open house for wildlife crossings master plan next week
JACKSON HOLE, WYO – A wildlife crossings master plan is underway in Teton County. The effort has reached an open house public feedback stage which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 19 from 4-7pm at the Teton County Library Ordway Auditorium.
County officials hired Western Transportation Institute to come up with a comprehensive plan for setting set priorities for road crossings in specific locations, defining measures that will be most effective, identifying potential sources of funding, and proposing methods for monitoring crossings in the future to assess their success.
The public meeting will give an update on the current status of the master plan and public comment will be accepted. Western Transportation Institute will give a brief presentation at 5:30pm. Exhibits detailing the research areas, along with some of the potential crossing mitigation measures will also be provided.
