Man visiting with his wife goes missing
JACKSON HOLE, WYO – UPDATE (2:25pm) Missing person has been located safe and sound.
Local law enforcement is in the beginning stages of launching as possible search for missing person. That effort includes a Nixle alert that went out moments ago:
Missing Person: Jonas Leo Jasiukonis; 31 yo male, 5’11” 180 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes. Last seen: 6pm 9/6 near Hwy 390.
Jasiukonis spent the night out with his wife last night. The two became separated and he never returned to the couple’s campsite. Jasiukonis’ wife, Iri, called dispatch at 10am this morning to report her husband missing. The couple is visiting here from Oregon.
Teton County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Matt Carr said his department decided to issue the Nixle alert fairly early (even as an investigation is being considered) in order to take advantage of the power of social media to assist police in cases like this.
