77th Fireman’s Ball tops all others with big name entertainment
JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Every year the Fireman’s Ball gets to be a bigger and bigger deal. The event outgrew Snow King’s convention space years ago and moved to the Heritage Arena at the fairgrounds. If they keep this pace up, they may have to find an even bigger venue.
This year’s ball got even bigger (if that’s possible) as in Big Head Todd and the Monsters, big. Supporting acts will include the return of Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band, as well as local favorites Lazy Eyes.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring another fantastic, nationally-touring act to Jackson Hole. Big Head Todd and the Monsters have such a strong history on the road and bring a lot of energy to their live shows,” said Dan Long, co-chair of the 2017 Fireman’s Ball.
Last year’s ball featured Gov’t Mule with supporting acts Blackberry Smoke and The Record Company.
“It’s called ‘the Ball’ out of tradition, but it is really an incredible fundraising concert and auction to support the responders that protect this community. In return for your continued appreciation of us, we get to provide the community with an amazing party,” said Ben Thurston, co-chair of the ball.
The Fireman’s Ball is the primary annual fundraising event for the Jackson Firefighters Association (JFA), the non-profit that represents volunteer and career firefighters who serve their community from fire stations in downtown Jackson (Station 1) and Adams Canyon (Station 7). JFA members provide EMS, rescue and fire protection to residents within a primary service area that extends from South Park to Solitude.
Big Head Todd and the Monsters will be releasing their latest studio release, New World Arisin’, on November 3—just prior to bringing their signature rock style to Jackson Hole.
The event takes place at the Heritage Arena, November 11, 2017. As always, the slogan remains: “You come to our ball; we’ll come to your fire.”
