Someone tried to 'rescue' a baby antelope near Shoshoni

UPDATE: The couple who picked up the antelope have told their side of the story.
For the second time this month, someone has attempted to rescue a young wild animal, and thereby actually putting it in more danger.

Today, a family showed up to a bait and tackle shop near Shoshoni with a baby antelope in their car. A source said the family traveling through stopped at the shop asking for help reaching Wyoming Game & Fish. The source tells County 10 that the family picked up the baby because they were afraid it was going to get hit by a car.
She said that seeing this after Yellowstone incident involving a baby bison she was "kind of disgusted by it." The antelope was reportedly hanging out with the family in the front seat of the vehicle, sitting in laps and in contact with a dog.
G&F was contacted, the family was issued a citation, and she said G&F is going to attempt reintroduce the young antelope to its herd. Because of the close contact with humans and canines, it is unknown if the antelope's mother will take it back.
At this point it is unknown where the family was from, but the source did say the vehicle had Wyoming plates. Seeing the Wyoming plates was "like salt in the wound." It is possible the vehicle was a rental.
